Two traffic cops shot at Peliyagoda

Two traffic police officers attached to the Peliyagoda Police were injured and rushed to the National Hospital after they received gunshot injuries yesterday.

The shooting had occurred near the Bulugaha Junction in Dalugama.

The two officers were injured when an unknown individual who had arrived in a motorcar had tried to shoot at two individuals on a motorcycle in front of the car, but had instead shot at the motorcycle with the two policemen in the vicinity. Police have initiated investigations into the matter.
