Two more UN Special Rapporteurs on IDP human rights and right to education are being scheduled to visit Sri Lanka following Pillay’s visit, the Ministry of External Affairs announced.
Invitations have already been extended to the UN Special Procedure mandate holders, the Ministry said.
Access for special rapporteurs was a key demand in the UNHRC’s 2013 resolution on Sri Lanka. The two visits have been scheduled for December 2013 and January 2014, the Ministry said.
