A top United Nations official arrived in Sri Lanka on a four-day official visit called on the President on Saturday in Colombo for discussions.
The United Nations Under Secretary General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman met with President Maithripala Sirisena last afternoon at the President’s Official Residence in Colombo.
Feltman earlier met with the Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Ajith P. Perera at the Ministry. During his visit from 28 February to 3 March, Feltman will meet a range of ministers and Government officials to discuss the broad partnership between the UN and the Government of Sri Lanka and will also travel to Jaffna on 2 March.
This was Feltman’s first visit to Sri Lanka, and according to the UN, he discussed with Sri Lankan leaders various issues of mutual concern.
