TNA decides to be part of the Eastern Provincial Council administration
(www.colombopage.com): Sri Lanka’s major Tamil political party, the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), has decided to be part of the administration of the Eastern Provincial Council.
The party recently appointed a four-member committee to decide on whether the TNA would be part of the Eastern Provincial Council administration. Accordingly, the TNA has decided to accept two ministerial portfolios and the post of Deputy Chairman of the Council’s administration.
The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), which holds power within the Council, invited all parties represented in the Eastern Provincial Council to be part of the Council’s administration.
