Silva told a media briefing that interested parties were engaged in spreading false stories that he himself had decided to follow Amarasinghe.
“No one including myself or comrades Bimal Ratnayake or K. D. Lal Kantha will join Amarasinghe at any point,” he said.
Bimal Ratnayake was also present at the media briefing with Tilvin Silva.
He also said that his party would file legal action against groups which they had identified to be engaged in a program of getting the media to publish false information with regard to the departure of Amarasinghe.
He said he had spoken to Amarasinghe over the phone and was confident that the former leader would be back in the fold.
