Three soldiers killed in gunfight

Sri Lanka military says that three Army soldiers were killed in Jaffna Thursday night in a gunfight erupted among them due to a personal dispute.



The Military spokesman Brigadier Wimal Hapuarachchi said the three soldiers were on duty at Murugan Kovil in Chavakachcheri in the northern city of Jaffna when the shooting incident happened.

Initial inquiries have revealed that the shooting was due to a personal dispute among the three soldiers and that there was no third party involvement, the Army said in a statement.

Chavakachcheri Police are conducting further investigations.
