The Supreme Court says that a system is being developed to enable filing Fundamental Rights petitions by email.
The new system will be active from March this year, said the Registrar of the Supreme Court Maheshi Jayasekara.
She further told media that the Fundamental Rights petitions may be filed in Supreme Court even in midnight under the new system.
At present, all cases in Supreme Court must be filed before 4 p.m.
The aim of the new move is to enhance the efforts of the Supreme Court to inspire public trust and confidence.
