Sunshine Holdings Plc receiving a Silver award for their ‘integrated’ annual report at the CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards 2014   “We like to keep things simple. Our annual report this year too follows the same principle. It is important that we present our information simplistically, making it easy to understand. Couple this with the standard terms of disclosure, good governance and the standards set out by CA Sri Lanka and you have a winning combination,” said Sunshine Holdings Plc Group CFO W.D.P.L. Vithanage. A total of 130 organisations, including leading blue chip companies, conglomerates and small-scale community groups competed for the coveted awards this year which promote transparency, accountability and corporate governance. Vithanage further commented: “This was also our first ‘Integrated’ annual report. This fusion of capital employed, such as financial, human, intellectual, manufactured, environmental, social, has long been recognised within the group and this time we made a conscious effort to switch to this method of reporting.” Sunshine Holdings Plc has grown to be one of Sri Lanka’s most respected conglomerates, with its core areas focusing on the sectors of healthcare, agribusiness and FMCG. Other business platforms the group operates in include metal packaging, energy, leisure, telecom and commodity broking. With a strong ambition to be Sri Lanka’s most admired conglomerate, Sunshine Holdings and its subsidiaries will focus keenly on six identified strategic imperatives in the coming year. This will lead the Group to reach its next tier in sustainable value creation. These strategies have been formulated taking into account its commitment to the Triple Bottom Line approach, stakeholder needs and other key risks identified through its risk management process. Sunshine Holdings Plc will also continue to improve its diversified portfolio in the year ahead.
