Deputy Minister of Justice Sujeewa Senasinghe will be taking part in the international seminar on ‘Strengthening Democracy and the Role of Parliamentarians: Challenges and Solutions’, which will be held this week in Ottawa, Canada.
Senasinghe is the only Parliamentarian from Asia to be present at this seminar, which is being jointly organised by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the Parliament of Canada to improve good governance, policymaking and public participation in lawmaking activities within Commonwealth member states.
The seminar will be held for a week with the participation of fellow lawmakers from Kenya, Malawi, Seychelles, Mpumalanga, Australia, Jersey, Malta, Scotland, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos.
