Sri Lanka, China to establish joint program for exchange of scientists

The Sri Lankan Government has received Cabinet approval to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China to establish a joint Biotechnology Laboratory for exchange of scientists.

The MoU relating to the program of exchanging scientists aims to widen communication facilities among scientists and researchers of China and Sri Lanka and develop mutual relationship and understanding, the Government said.

It also envisaged to conduct joint scientific and technological research programs, encourage technological research activities and promote scientific development programs.



The Cabinet has approved the proposal put forward by the Minister of Higher Education and Research Dr. Sarath Amunugama for signing the relevant Memorandum of Understanding with China. (Colombopage)
