Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa Jeyaram whose party swept the polls in the Southern Indian state last month, is scheduled to meet with Indian Premier Narendra Modi for talks that will also feature the Sri Lanka issue, according to Indian media reports. The powerful Chief Minister may even be wooed to join India’s new NDA Government, First Post reported. Jayalalithaa and her Tamil Nadu MPs boycotted Prime Minister Modi’s swearing in ceremony in New Delhi last week, because of his decision to invite President Mahinda Rajapaksa and other SAARC heads of state to the event. During the meeting with Modi, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is to bring up several issues, including the Sri Lankan Tamil issue and the Palk Bay fishing crisis, the Indian reports said. Sri Lankan Government officials have been ecstatic after the BJP’s big win negated the need for an alliance with the 37 MPs from the AIADMK from Tamil Nadu.
