Six new Governors were sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday, the presidential media unit said.
They were H.M.G.S. Palihakkara (Northern Province), Austin Fernando (Eastern Province), Marshall Perera (Sabaragamuwa Province), Surangani Eallawala (Central Province), P. B. Dissanayake (North Central Province) and M. P. Jayasinghe (Uva Province).
Earlier, K.C. Yogeswaran, Amara Piyaseeli Ratnayake and Hemakumara Nanayakkara were sworn in as Governors of the Western, North Western and Southern Provinces respectively - Pix by Sudath Silva
