Shoot using cameras instead of guns: EC

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has stated that he has instructed the Police to use cameras instead of guns during the forthcoming general election.

Speaking during a media conference held at the Election Secretariat, he stated that he had also instructed to photograph those who violate election laws and regulations.

The Elections Commissioner further stated that if a certain political campaign hindered the activities of the scheduled A/L exam, the relevant factions should take responsibility regarding the matter.
