‘Shilpa Abhimani – 2012’ a three day innovative exhibition of handicrafts organised by the Youth Affairs Division of the Department of Industrial Development and Enterprise Promotions under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Central Province commenced on 17 August at the Kandy City Centre (KCC).
The exhibition had been organised parallel to the Youth Creations Competition 2012. Currently, the Youth Affairs Development Division of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Central Province has implemented a number of development projects with the objective to empower youths in provincial zones. These programs that focus skill development of the regional youth also engage in identifying self employed young personages with innovative potentials to walk an extra mile to take the provincial identity throughout the vibrant global commercial environment. With immense emphasis to create commercially competitive, qualitative and value added creative products through the exchange of information via firsthand experience that would obviously refrain the creative young personages from being isolated in the global arena, these programs also work towards facilitating backgrounds for the youths of 16-35 years of age to effectively launch their innovative products and to sustainably continue their industries at a regional level for the socio-economic wellbeing of the communities.
