Members of Parliament to serve in the Committee on Public Accounts, Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), and Committee on Privileges were appointed last week.
The select committee recommended Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Mahinda Samarasinghe, Minister of Rural Economic Affairs P. Harrison, State Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Palitha Range Bandara, State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Niroshan Perera, State Minister of International Trade Sujeewa Senasinghe, Deputy Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Deputy Minister of Public Enterprise Development Eran Wickramaratne, MP Vijitha Herath, MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara, MP. Dr. NalindaJayatissa, MP S. Viyalanderan, and MP S. Sritharan. The announcements were made by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
In par with Standing Order 126 of Parliament, Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, MP Dayasiri Jayasekara, State Minister of Agriculture Wasantha Aluvihare, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva, Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ajith P. Perera, Deputy Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare Ranjan Ramanayake, Deputy Minister of Transport Ashok Abeysinghe, MP Chandrasiri Gajadeera, MP Sunil Handunnetti, MP Bimal Rathnayake, and MP M.A. Sumanthiran were appointed to COPE.
According to Standing Order 127 of the Parliament, Minister of Science, Technology and Research A.D. SusilPremajayantha, Minister of Law and Order and Prisons Reforms Thilak Marapone, Minister of Public Administration and Management R.M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media and the Chief Government Whip Gayantha Karunathilake, Minister of National Dialogue Mano Ganesan, Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faizer Musthapha, MP Doulas Alahapperuma, MP Anura Dissanayake, MP Wimal Weerawansa, and MP E. Saravanapavan were appointed to Committee on Privileges.
