The Government has allocated nearly Rs.2.2 million for the garbage removal program in the Kosgama, Salawa area which was damaged due to the sudden explosion of the Salawa army camp ammunition depot, The Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government said.
Secretary to the Ministry Kamal Padmasiri stated the garbage cleaning program was started following a request of the Sri Lanka Army and it would be directed by the Western Province Local Government Department.
The Seethawaka, Homagama and Dompe Pradeshiya Sabhawas have also been involved to the cleaning process, Padmasiri added.
