Rotary Sri Lanka’s District Conference kicks off tomorrow with Miss World

Rotary Sri Lanka and Maldives will be holding their annual District Conference this weekend commencing from 20 February at the BMICH, Colombo, which will be graced by the Global Vice President of Rotary International Celia Cruz de Giay and the Reigning Miss World Rolene Strauss.
A panel of speakers in the realm of Katie Spotz who set a world record in crossing the Atlantic Ocean by solo rowing, David Lim who led the first expedition toMount Everest from Singapore, E.V. Gireesh an eminent speaker from India, Rob Raylamand the Executive Director of Gift of Life International are expected to address the conference which is being partnered by the Ministry of Tourism, BMW and Hotel Galadari.
This conference will also feature the key initiatives Rotary has activated this year comprising of the gift of hearing at a cost of $ 500,000 partnered with Miss China, One Million Tree Planting Project in partnership with Hatton National Bank and the first-ever human heart valve bank that will be setting up at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Sri Lanka.
Rotary being the only service organisation to be declared a permanent seat in the United Nations just celebrated its 110 years of existence.
