State Minister of Child Affairs Rosy Senanayake with FAO Representative in Sri Lanka Beth Crawford
State Minster of Child Affairs Rosy Senanayake recently met Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representative in Sri Lanka Beth Crawford to discuss ways of improving the standards of nutrition for children in Sri Lanka.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Child Affairs and various issues including the development of an early childhood nutrition policy, a school based nutrition program for children and advocacy programmes on nutrition awareness were discussed at length.
Additionally the Rs. 20,000 nutrition package project which is being implemented under the 100-day program was also discussed and Senanayake sought the assistance of the UN agency to help ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
