At the full completion of the project it will generate 30 megawatts. This Regeneration power house is one of the projects which is brought forth to find solution to the country’s energy requirement as mentioned in the ‘Mahinda Chintanaya’.
The construction of the Regeneration power plant is done in the Hambantota area due to the fact that almost the entire year a dry climate is prevailing and more than enough sun beams fall onto the earth. It is expected to complete the project in one year using the Japanese and Belgium technology with the contribution of local labour.
