Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha paid a courtesy call on Army Commander Lt. Gen. Daya Ratnayake during a visit to Colombo yesterday.
The pair exchanged views on matters of relevance and ‘worldwide developments’ taking place in relation to Sri Lanka, the official SLA website said. The meeting took place at the Army Headquarters in Colombo.
Their discussions had also centered on the forthcoming Defence Seminar – 2014, in which Ambassador Aryasinha has also been a chairperson in one of the sessions, themed ‘Global Challenges,’ the military said.
Towards the end of the brief meeting both Commander and the visiting Ambassador exchanged mementos as tokens of remembrance and goodwill.
Military Secretary Major General Amal Karunasekara and Director Training Brigadier Ralph Nugera were also present at the meeting.
