Public employment census on 17 November

The Census of Public and Semi Government Sector Employment, conducted by the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) will be held country wide on 17 November 2016.

DCS states that the census will be conducted from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. on 17 November 2016, with participation of all public and semi-Government sector employees.

DCS has launched a website containing all materials (questionnaires, instructions, code list etc.) that will be used for the census and this site has been included in the department website (www.statistics.gov.lk). Audio-visual instructions on filling each and every question of the questionnaire in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages are also included in this web site.

DCS requests public and semi-Government sector employees to go through these documents and assist the department to conduct this census successfully, by filling a census schedule accurately.

This census is conducted once in four years and with this being the 11th one.
