PSC calls for public opinion

The Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to recommend and report on political and constitutional measures has decided to call for public opinion. It will accept public representations from today onwards and the interested persons, political parties, civil and religious organisations who have opinions, suggestions and recommendations could forward them to the PSC until August 9. The PSC met for the first time in the Parliament complex last Tuesday the under leadership of its Chairman, the eader of the House Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva. The Opposition has not nominated its members for the PSC yet. The Select Committee is scheduled to meet again on 26 July, the Government Information Department reported.
