The Private Bus Operators Association (PBOA) has said they are not ready to launch a strike during the Vesak season that cause inconvenience to the public.
The inter- provincial private bus owners will also halt the strike, President of the PBOA Gemunu Wijerathna said.
Wijerathna told the state run radio that his organization is ready to discuss with the Ministry Of Public Transport about the problems and issues they face, in order to find solutions. President of the Inter Provincial Private Bus Owners Association also ruled out the claim that his association is going to launch a strike during the Vesak holidays on May 24 and 25.
Private bus operators last month threatened to launch a strike action to protest government’s order to paint the private buses blue.
