President Mahinda Rajapaksa is the only leader who achieved development and independence in Sri Lanka, Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa remarked while addressing the gathering at the opening of the Molakepupatana Drinking Water Scheme.
Though leaders of different governments governed the country before 1994, they could not achieve the desired and expected goals. He added that the sole aim of President Rajapaksa is to make a country where all people can live conveniently, independent of foreign influence, and by strengthening the economic standards of its farmers.
He stated that though Tissamaharama experienced dry weather, farmers could protect their crops with the help of reservoirs such as Mauara and Weheragala.
