President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to leave for Beijing Monday (8) on a three-day official visit at the invitation of the Chinese government, sources at the President's Media Unit said. The President and the Sri Lankan delegation are expected to hold bilateral discussions with several high ranking officials of the Chinese Government during his visit.
President Rajapaksa is to apprise the Chinese officials of the current developments in Sri Lanka, especially the projects funded by China. He is also expected to discuss several urgent issues including the Channel-4 video, sources said.
