Police report to court on BBS Chief

The Police yesterday filed a report to court on the recent Nippon Hotel incident involving the Bodu Bala Sena and its General Secretary Ven. Galaboda Aththe Gnanasara thero. Gnanasara thero and a group of people had recently prevented a press conference led by the Venerable Watarekke Vijitha thero from taking place and verbally abused the Buddhist monk when he was about to brief the media at the Nippon hotel. The Venerable Watarekke Vijitha thero had later complained to the police that some of his files had been taken by Gnanasara thero when he stormed the venue of the press conference. The police had told court that according to Gnanasara thero, he had taken the files by mistake thinking they were part of some files he had brought with him. However Watarekke Vijitha thero had told the police that the files were taken away by force after Gnanasara thero had threatened him. (Colombo Gazette)
