Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) has organised a People’s Tribunal in order to ascertain the reality and the truth behind the fate of the controversial $ 1.5 billion deal to construct the Colombo Port City. The Public Tribunal will take place on 9 Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Public Library auditorium. An eminent panel will serve as a judges’ panel and leading lawyers will conduct the prosecution. The aim of this Public Tribunal is to help the citizens of Sri Lanka to assess the publicly-declared long-term socioeconomic benefits to the nation and the people of Sri Lanka and contingent risks to the nation and its people, national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
