People’s Bank joins customers in celebrating Deepavali

Twenty-two People’s Bank branches and service centres commemorated Deepavali in areas such as the north, east and Vanni as well as in cities like Kandy, Ratnapura, Galle, Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam and Colombo by remaining open for transactions. 

Furthermore, many of the branches also held special Deepavali celebrations in commemoration of the ‘Festival of Lights’ across the island. 

The main celebration was held at the Wellawatte branch of People’s Bank with the participation of

People’s Bank Head of Marketing Deepal Abeysekara, People’s Bank Deputy General Manager Strategic Planning and Research Chandani Werapitiya, People’s Bank Deputy General Manager – International Banking Sunil Wanniarachchi, People’s Bank Head of Finance Mangala Gamage, People’s Bank Regional Manager – Colombo South A.U.L.A. Ansar, Assistant Regional Managers – Colombo South, T. Sunil and B.G. Kusumalatha.

A special Hindu pooja was conducted to invoke the blessings for the nation, customers as well as the staff of People’s Bank. Various Hindu cultural items added colour to the ceremony.
