Parliamentary Program for Budget 2016

The proposed Parliamentary Program for Budget 2016 submitted by Acting Minister of Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardenawas approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said while addressing the weekly Cabinet press briefing held at the Government Information Department Auditorium yesterday.

Accordingly, the program is as follows:

(i) Presentation of the Appropriation Bill (First Reading) – 23 October

(ii) Budget Speech (Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill) – 20 November

(iii) Second Reading debate (14 allotted days)

(iv) Second Reading Division – 8 December

(v) Committee Stage Debate (12 allotted days)

(vi)Third Reading Division – 22 December
