Pakistan PM condoles with Sri Lanka landslide victims, offers relief assistance

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday expressed his deep condolences with President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa, on the disaster caused by the landslide in the Badulla District. “I am deeply saddened by the news of the tragedy that befell our brethren in Sri Lanka. The loss of precious human lives and colossal damage to infrastructure due to the landslide in the Badulla District, have caused great sorrow in Pakistan,” Prime Minister Sharif wrote to President Rajapaksa. “On behalf of the Government, the people of Pakistan and on my behalf, I wish to express our deep sorrow and condolences on this tragedy. Our hearts go out to your calamity-stricken people.” The PM said Pakistan is ready to assist in any way to meet Sri Lanka’s urgent requirements, especially in relief and rehabilitation efforts.
