A previous suspect of the Seya Sadevmi murder case Dunesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya was further remanded till November 23rd as nobody was present in court today to bail him out.
Kondaya was further remanded yesterday when he was produced before Gampaha Magistrate Tikiri K. Jayatilaka.
Having released from the charges of Seya Sadevmi murder, Dunesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya was produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate.
He was produced before the Attanagalla Court following an arrest warrant on him for failing to appear in court to give evidence in connection with a cattle theft case.
However Attanagalla Magistrate Kavindya Nanayakkara ordered to release Dunesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya from the charges.
Meanwhile, Kondaya was produced before the Gampaha Magistrate following another warrant where the suspect had forcefully entered a house and assaulted a person and injuring him.
Gampaha Magistrate Tikiri K. Jayatilake ordered to release the suspect on two personal bails amounting to 50 thousand rupees each.
However nobody was present to bail him out, and the suspect was further remanded until November 23rd.
When the case was taken for hearing today, the mother of Kondaya and one of his sisters were present at the Court.
When journalists asked why nobody was present to bail Kondaya, Kondaya’s sister said that obtaining bail for her brother could pose threats on his life.
