Una McCauley presented her credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mangala Samaraweera as the new United Nations Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative, at the Foreign Ministry yesterday.
McCauley was the Representative for UNICEF in Sri Lanka and she has been the acting UN Resident Coordinator since the departure of her predecessor Subinay Nandy, who left Sri Lanka in January to assume the post of Director, Asia and the Pacific Division at the UN headquarters in New York.
McCauley is a national of the United Kingdom. She holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of London and Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and Social Research from the University of East London.
