Mohan Lal Grero, the new State Minister of University Education yesterday affirmed that he has absolutely dedicated himself to elevate the status of university education through the improvement of its existing shortcomings.
He gave this assurance at a salutation meeting held at Nugegoda after taking oaths as the State Minister.
“I wish to express my gratitude to the people who elected me recognising my talents and sincere interests in the education field enabling me to serve the country and the President who added value to my being elected. I consider this opportunity to continue and strengthen the activities so far carried out to improve the education system as a Provincial Council Member, a Parliamentarian, a Deputy Minister of Education and also as an ordinary citizen. I have no intention to shine myself or depend on politics. My aim is to form a proper education system so that children in this country are able to excel at global level,” he added.
Grero further mentioned that his aspiration was to identify issues, interests and thinking of undergraduates and children seeking university education. He also conveyed his willingness to work in close coordination with administrative machinery ensuring the confidence kept in him.
