The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE), the only private sector Chamber which exclusively serves Sri Lankan exporters, has joined hands with Verité Research to conduct research and policy advisory on specific trade related topics.
Verité Research Executive Director Dr. Nishan de Mel entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with National Chamber of Exporters President Sarada de Silva on 27 April.
The objective of the NCE is to serve as a forum to discuss export-related subjects and make policy recommendations to the Government with a view to promote and protect the trade, commerce and export enterprises of Sri Lanka.
In this regard the Economic Insights Group (EIG) of Verité Research will be working with the National Chamber of Exporters, to provide research support for strategic analysis and formulation of national policy. The EIG is a pioneering initiative to assist business chambers and associations through independent research, on issues affecting the private sector.
Founded in 2010, Verité Research is an inter-disciplinary think tank that provides independent analysis to governments and the private sector in Asia.
The EIG of Verité will also be working with other private sector associations to further the above and related objectives.
