Son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and UPFA Hambantota District candidate Namal Rajapaksa has been summoned for questioning again by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
The former MP tweeted that he had been summoned for questioning on Wednesday, 12 August, five days ahead of the Parliamentary election.
“Another attempt to disrupt my campaign. I’ve been summoned to FCID on 12 August. In the end none of these election tactics will work,” Rajapaksa the younger tweeted on his official account.
Meanwhile, UPFA Spokesman and Badulla District Candidate Dilan Perera said party representatives had met with the Elections Commissioner and urged him to prevent the summoning of Opposition candidates before the FCID which could be used for political gain. (DB)
