Myanmar media delegation visits Sri Lanka

An eight-member media delegation representing both regulators and media representatives from Myanmar visited Sri Lanka recently as part of an Asian Study tour to assess the various regulatory schemes in Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka.

The study group comprised government officials as well as private media representatives and were in Sri Lanka to assess the regulatory regime including self regulation in the country as well as media development and progress over the years. The delegation met with the Chairman and staff of the Sri Lanka Press Institute as well as the Press Complaints Commission of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka College of Journalism.
