Japan International Co-operation Agency, Institute of Development Administration under the Ministry of Public Administration and Management Development and Training Institutes in the relevant provincial councils are functioning as stakeholders of this project which is implemented in the 10 districts of Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara and Anuradhapura falling under these three provinces.
The training is planned to cover the categories of economic development officers, Divi Neguma development officers, agriculture research and production assistants, grama niladharis, family health officers, regional officers, public health inspectors, agricultural advisors, co-operative development officers, development assistants and development officers.
These motor buses at a cost of Rs. 30 million were provided by the Japan International Co-operation Agency.
Deputy Minister of Public Administration Wijaya Dahanayake, Chief Representative of JICA, Kiyoshi Amada, Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development Dr. Nihal Jayatilake, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration P.B. Abeykone and secretaries to the relevant provincial councils were among the large gathering on this occasion.
