The MMBL Pathfinder Group of companies, Sri Lanka was recently awarded the 5S Merit Award for 2014, at the Taiki Akimoto 5S Awards Competition for successfully implementing the internationally accepted quality standards.
The Taiki Akimoto 5S Awards, an annual event organised by the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) was held at the Hotel Galadari.
5S is a workplace organisational system which adopts five key strategies to adhere to and achieve maximum output from an organisation. In 2014 the internationally coveted 5 S Certification awarded to MMBL-Pathfinder Group highlighted the fact that this was the first time the 5 S Workplace Management System’s international certificate was issued to a Sri Lankan company.
The certification was done after assessing and registering the company as an entity that is complying with the requirements of international standards, guidelines and practices. The scope of the group included providing private equity investment business, brand/franchise management, investment banking, accounting, legal, general management and management consulting and project promotion.
MMBL-Pathfinder is a privately held investment group investment in a wide range of business sectors, including advisory services, agriculture, aviation, business logistics, consumer brands, energy- related services, financial services, real estate development and the travel, leisure and hospitality sector.
