Minister Amunugama returns from IMF, WB spring meetings

Senior Minister for International Monetary Co-operation and Deputy Minister of Finance & Planning, Dr. Sarath Amunugama attended an investment forum at Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, and also attended the annual conference of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank Spring Meetings (IMF/WB) in Washington, USA.

The Conference in Uganda was held from 11 to 12 April, 2013 and the sessions of the IMF/WB were held from 17 to 21 April, 2013.

At the conference Minister Amunugama met Yoweri Museveni the President of Uganda and held a special discussion with him on economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Further, in the midst of the IMF/WB spring sessions Dr. Amunugama met Indian Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Dr. Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini the Minister of Finance & Economic Affairs in Iran and discussed Iran-funded projects in Sri Lanka, particularly, the Uma Oya Project, and payments for the export of tea to Iran from Sri Lanka.
