Co-Chairman of the Matara District Development Committee Member of Parliament Buddika Pathirana opened his coordinating office at the District Secretariat premises amidst the chanting of seth pirith yesterday (22).
A large gathering of well wishers including Minister of Buddha Sasana and Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksha, Minister of Southern Development and Law and Order Sagala Rathnayaka, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of State for Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, District Secretary E.A.C. Vidanagamachchi, UPFA Members of Parliament Dullas Alahapperuma and Kanchana Wijesekera attended the opening ceremony.
“By opening this office I will be able to serve the almost 800,000 residents in the district and attend to their problems,” said Member of Parliament Buddika Pathirana addressing the gathering.
Minister of Southern Development and Law and Order said, “I wish the Co-Chairman of the Matara District Development Committee Buddika Pathirana well and hope he will attend to the problems faced by the people of Matara District.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera said, “We have a President and Prime Minister who could bring rapid development to the nation’s economy. I am sure that Buddika can develop the Matara District rapidly with the backing of the President and Prime Minister.” Co-Chairman of the DDC State Minister of Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena also addressed the distinguished gathering.
