Man who threw kids into river, found dead

The man who threw his two children into the Nilwala River on Thursday, was found dead in the river yesterday, the police media unit said. The police said that the body of the man had been identified as the father of the two children who were thrown into the river before they were rescued by soldiers.

After throwing his two children into the river from a bridge in front of the public, the man had fled. A group of soldiers who were in the area at the time rescued the two children. The police had later launched an operation to locate the father while the mother was arrested from her house.
