The passing-out ceremony for Maldives Police officers who followed a special training course on VIP protection with the Special Task Force (STF) was held at the Kalutara STF training school recently (22 April).
The Commanding Officer of the Police STF, Deputy Inspector General of Police R.W.M.C. Ranawaka participated at the ceremony as the chief guest.
Assistant Commissioner of Police in Maldives Ahamed Saudi, International Coordinator for the Maldives Police Commissioner Juna Lathifa and senior officers of STF were also present.
Speaking at the event DIG Ranawaka stated: “It is a great pleasure that these officers have completed the VIP protection course very successfully and we also have produced such trained foreign officers on previous occasions. I believe that these officers will reap the benefits of the training in future”.
He further said that this course would further strengthen the ties between the Maldives Police and Sri Lanka Police STF. 30 foreign officers including two female officers joined the six week training course.
