The final report of the Presidential Committee appointed to inquire the controversy over the release of Advance Level Examination results was handed over to the President yesterday.
The committee appointed by President Mahinda Rajapakse was headed by Ministry of Technology and Research Secretary Dhara Wijethileke. During the investigation, the committee inquired from exam candidates, parents and Higher Education officials including Commissioners in charge of Evaluation and Examinations and computer programmers. The outgoing Examination Commissioner Anura Edirisinghe was also questioned by the five member committee. The committee comprised of Colombo University Vice Chancellor Shanika Hirimburegama, Moratuwa University Vice Chancellor Ananda Jayawardene, Uva University Vice Chancellor Ranjith Premalal De Silva and Royal College Principal Upali Gunasekara.
