Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has called on the people to defeat the “Eelamic foreign policy” being followed by the Government.
Rajapaksa made a brief appearance at the ‘Bring Back Mahinda Rally’ in Matara last evening to hand over a message to be read out by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Parliamentarian Dullas Alahapperuma and left before the message was read out to the gathering.
In the message, Rajapaksa emphasised that the Government was paving the way for terrorists to regroup via this “Eelamic foreign policy”.
He also pointed out that he had realised his past faults and wanted to take a new step with his supporters who did not leave him following his defeat.
Commenting on development projects carried out by the Rajapaksa regime, he stated that the Government was attempting to take revenge on him by halting those valuable development projects.
The message cited the Beliatta Highway Project, Port City Project and Uma Oya Project as examples.
Rajapaksa in his message also stated that no one could defeat their struggle by punishing them or arresting them.
