Mahinda appoints Grero as joint organiser for Ratmalana

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed Mohan Lal Grero, Deputy Minister of Education as the joint organiser for the Ratmalana electorate.
A distinguished old boy of Royal College, Colombo and Ananda College, Colombo he obtained an Honours Degreee in Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. Grero is a writer, an environmentalist and a visionary in many fields and holds a private pilot’s license.
Having entered active politics in 2004 on the invitation of the United National Party Grero contested the Western Provincial council with success. He was the Chairman of the Education Reforms Committee of the UNP which forwarded proposals for the 2005 Presidential Election. Again in 2009 he contested for the Western Province Provincial Council with greater success and in 2010 was able to obtain third place in preferential votes within the Colombo District and as a result was selected to parliament.
Grero crossed over to the ruling party in 2011 and was appointed as the Monitoring MP of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development. In 2013 he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Education.
He is renowned to practice politics in an excemplary manner and with this appointment pledges to continue and carry forward his style of politics within the Ratmalana electorate and to serve the people of Colombo District. Grero further said that “he is dedicated to strengthen and move forward the entire education system of Sri Lanka”.
