The Mahabodhi Society has made elaborate plans to extend a warm welcome to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he pays a visit to the historic institution as well as mark the occasion with a special book presentation.
The society is planning to present the Indian Premier with a book entitled ‘Renewal & Rediscovery: An Anthology from Antiquity to Aspirant’ commemorating his visit to Sri Lanka and to the Mahabodhi Society headquarters.
Veteran journalist Sarath De Alwis, who compiled the book for the Mahbodhi Society, speaking about the book, told Daily FT: “This book has several articles written by people such as Prof. Rohan Samarajeeva on economic cooperation and Dr. Sandagomi Coperahewa on cultural links. The book basically covers historical relations between India and Sri Lanka and is a record of history about the two countries as the relationship between these two countries is as old as time itself.”
The book will be presented to Indian Premier Narendra Modi on 13 March at the Mahabodhi Society headquarters at 11:00 a.m.
