A lawyer holds a placard during a protest yesterday against the Government’s decision to relocate the Hulftsdorp Courts complex out of Colombo. The Association of Lawyers in Colombo Magistrate Courts yesterday passed a resolution to oppose the relocation plan of the Hulftsdorp Courts complex.
The renowned Hulftsdorp Courts complex, which is more than 100 years old, is to be relocated to another area following a decision taken by the Government. The entire courts complex, according to the decision, will be removed from Hulftsdorp and will subsequently be relocated in Kolonnawa, Kadawatha and Battaramulla areas as three court complexes, according to local news.
