The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Colombo yesterday announced additional support for Sri Lanka’s socio-economic development.
The Kuwait Government has decided to extend financial assistance of a sum of $ 34,589 through World Vision Organization to promote the mushroom cultivation enterprise in Sri Lanka as well as in providing school bags and stationery to the neediest children in war-affected areas in the north.
The Government of Kuwait also provided a sum of $ 372,000 to set up a four-storey building for East Ceylon Arabic College in Addalichanai.
In this context Khalaf Bu Dhhair, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Colombo, said that the Government of the State of Kuwait as well as the Kuwait Fund is playing a great role in providing the assistance to Sri Lanka.
The Ambassador further stated that the Kuwait Government is willing to assist the people of Sri Lanka as well as the Government in Sri Lanka in various ways in the near future.
