In the case where a businessman and two bouncers, who were alleged to have been involved in assaulting a 21-year -old youth at the Kama-Colombo nightclub, was referred to the Mediation Board by a Colombo Court.
When the case came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, both parties were ordered to appear before the Mediation Board.
The businessman and two bouncers of the Kama-Colombo nightclub were arrested by the Colpetty Police for allegedly assaulting the 21-year-old youth within and outside the nightclub on 6 July. The Colombo Fort Magistrate had issued an order prohibiting the businessman from entering the club where the alleged incident had taken place.
The businessman and two bouncers who were arrested in connection with the incident are currently out on bail. The Colpetty Police had informed Court that the Police had received reports of several other instances where assaults of a similar nature had been carried out by the night club’s security guards on club patrons. Further magisterial inquiry into the matter was fixed for 27 November.
