Under the patronage of Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development, the Kalutara District Coordinating Committee was held at the District Secretariat Office on 30 August 2011. A sum exceeding Rs. 3300 million was allocated for the development activities in the Kalutara District this year.
These funds were allocated for Provincial Road Development Programme, Divi Naguma National Programme, Gama Naguma Programme and Samurdhi Programme. In addition Rs. 200 million was allocated for Millaniya and Bandaragama electorates for immediate development programmes. Many important decisions were taken relating to Kalutara District Development at this meeting. The progresses of current development projects in the district were also evaluated.
